Catering Manager

Full time, permanent position

£30,000 - £34,000 per annum, depending upon experience

There is an exciting new opportunity for a Catering Manager at Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre.  The successful candidate will be experienced in running catering operations, and be equipped with the expertise to manage the café, restaurant, two bars and a member’s club within this prestigious Theatre.  We are looking for a hands-on, energetic personality who will continue to drive a successful catering business.

Sous Chef and Chef de Partie

We are looking for talented chefs, with a fresh food background. The successful candidates will utilise their professional culinary skills to play a critical role in sustaining the excellent catering service at Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre.


  • Ensure that the kitchen operates at a high standard all the times
  • Help in the preparation and design of food menus
  • Must have a good level of food knowledge and be able to deputise for the Head Chef
  • Manage and train, supervise and motivate the kitchen staff
  • Solve any issues that arise in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
  • Have a clear understanding of profit margins, purchasing and food costing including waste control
  • Maintain a optimistic and proficient approach with coworkers and customers

We are looking for candidates who are energetic, efficient with a “can-do” attitude and enthusiastic.  The successful candidates must be well organised with a keen eye for detail and able to work alone and as a part of a team.

Salaries are competitive.

Shifts are generally from Monday until Saturday, with a couple of exceptions.

Join our Front of House Team: Ushers and Duty Managers

We’re always looking for brilliant individuals with exceptional customer service skills to join our Front of House team.  If you’re enthusiastic, observant, friendly and reliable with an interest in theatre, we’d love to hear from you.


Ushers are responsible for welcoming all our visitors, offering assistance and guidance to provide first class customer care throughout their theatre experience.  Evening and/or weekend shifts available, £7.38-£7.83 per hour.

Duty Managers:

Duty Managers are efficient, pro-active leaders of the Front of House team, ensuring an excellent standard of customer care and service is delivered at all times.  Evening and/or weekend shifts available, circa £15 per hour.

Recruitment for Ushers and Duty Managers is on-going. 

We are currently looking for new FOH team members who are available to work from w/c 20 August 2018 onwards.

Work experience placements are available throughout the year* in the Youth for those aged 15 and over,  and Technical Backstage department for those aged 18 and over. We encourage applications from anyone who has an interest in learning how a professional producing theatre operates.
