The Yvonne Arnaud Youth Theatre: Scene Change presents

The War of Jenkin's Ear SOLD OUT

Toby Jenkins hates life at his boarding school and dreads the start of a new year. But this year is different. A new boy, Simon Christopher, will change things forever for all at Redlands School. Simon knows what is going to happen, he can make things happen, he can even heal. In fact, if Simon is who he claims to be then things will change forever for the whole world.

A festering rivalry between the “toffs” at the school and the local village “oiks” flares up when Toby is attacked and the war begins. Soon all the Redlands boys are consumed by the desire to beat the “oiks” and Simon must use all his strange talents to try and make peace.

Michael Morpurgo’s moving novel of friendship, belief, loyalty, faith and the agonies of growing up is brought to the stage for the first time by the talented young actors of Scene Change.  The group has gained a reputation for innovative and physical work including last year’s Out of Nowhere which was devised and written for the Scene Change and the adaptation of David Almond’s hit novel, Clay.

Adapted for the stage and directed by Adam Forde
