The Ghost Train
Arnold Ridley's classic comedy thriller about a group of travellers (including a newlywed couple, an estranged couple, a self-indulgent young dandy and an elderly spinster with a parrot) stranded in the waiting room of an isolated railway station on a dark and stormy night.
They react with various degrees of credulity to the station master's warning of death to anyone who sets eyes on the ghostly train that haunts the line.
Arnold Ridley’s timeless mystery was first produced for the stage in 1925 and has since been made in a film no less than four times. It remains as popular today, capturing audience’s imaginations with its mysterious and chilling tale of ghostly-goings-on!
After the huge success of this play, author Arnold Ridley found fame all over again playing Private Godfrey in Dad’s Army.
