A Little Night Music - In Concert
For one spectacular night only, Alex Parker brings the award winning and critically acclaimed Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler musical A Little Night Music to the Yvonne Arnaud, in a special concert version of the show.
Inspired by Ingmar Bergman’s film, Smiles Of A Summer Night, the action takes place in a weekend country house in turn-of-the-century Sweden. The party consists of middle-aged lawyer Fredrik Egerman, his teenage trophy wife Anne, his son Henrik, the intriguing and beautiful actress Desirée Armfeldt, her mother Mme Armfeldt, the ferociously jealous Count Carl-Magnus and his long-suffering wife Charlotte.
Featuring a 25-piece orchestra on the stage and songs such as Send In The Clowns, A Weekend In The Country and Every Day A Little Death, the show offers Guildford audiences a rare opportunity to see one of Sondheim’s most amusing and sophisticated works.
The evening will feature an all-star West-End cast including two-time Olivier Award Winner Janie Dee (Carousel, Comic Potenial, Noises Off) as Desiree Armfeldt, David Birrell (Ragtime, Spamalot, Passion) as Frederik Egerman, Julia Sutton (Sister Act, Follies) as Madame Armfeldt, two-time Olivier Award Winner Joanna Riding (Carousel, The Witches of Eastwick, My Fair Lady) as Coutess Charlotte Malcolm, Simon Bailey (Phanton of the Opera, Les Miserables) will play Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm, Anna O'Byrne (Love Never Dies, The Phantom of the Opera) as Anne Egerman, Fra Fee (Les Miserables) as Henrik Egerman, Laura Pitt-Pulford (Mack and Mabel, Sunset Boulevard, Hello Dolly) as Petra.
The cast also includes Nadim Naaman as Mr Erlanson, Scott Garnham as Mr Lindquist, Kimberly Blake as Mrs Nordstrom, Lisa-Anne Wood as Mrs Andersen and Laura Sillett as Mrs Segstrom and Bibi Jay as Fredrika Armfeldt.
