Macbeth

"Something wicked this way comes.”

Macbeth, the Thane of Glamis is a powerful and respected warrior who is devotedly loyal to his King. When he encounters the weird sisters on a blasted heath they prophesise a future that, fuelled with his own ambition, leads to his ultimate and tragic downfall…

This corrosive and compelling psychological thriller about politics, power and witchcraft is Shakespeare's darkest tragedy. Macbeth’s transformation from battlefield hero to bloody tyrant reveals just how swiftly the human soul can sink to the depths of darkness and despair. Recounting the brutal rise and fall of the ill-fated Macbeths, this infamous “Scottish play” is unarguably a quick, raw and blood-soaked tragedy.

Interval has gained a reputation for performing and developing new writing as well as taking a fresh look at the classics. Recent successes have included Romeo and Juliet, Lord of the Flies, The Lark, The Firework Maker’s Daughter and last year’s sell out, The Secret Garden.
