Originally filmed for television and published by BBC books in 1998, Talking Heads is widely regarded as a modern classic.
Alan Bennett’s acute observations of the interior lives of his characters: Irene in Lady of Letters, a lonely writer of poison pen letters, ever watchful behind lace curtains and Susan in Bed Among the Lentils, the alcoholic wife of a vicar, locked in combat with the ladies of the flower arranging society while forming an attachment to a local grocer, are both hilarious and poignant.
The brilliant writing and caustic humour provide rich material for the actors and Cory Peterson’s blending of the two monologues promises to be an hilarious and moving evening.
"His finest achievement - indeed masterpiece wouldn't be too strong a word"
