“English Touring Theatre is surely the national theatre of touring” SIR IAN McKELLAN
Tonight at 8.30 - Dancing
From the pen of the ever popular Noël Coward comes this exquisite collection of nine one-act plays performed together, three plays per night, for the first time since Coward starred in them in 1936. From vaudeville to satire, from melodrama to romance, these plays span the glorious range of Coward’s writing. Performed in trios of three per evening, this is a unique opportunity to see all of these wonderful plays. Come along once, twice or three times. Or make a day of it and see all nine plays performed on a Saturday with meal intervals in between.
Dancing will be the following plays - Family Album, Hands Across the Sea and Shadow Play
Family Album
In a middle class drawing room, a father’s children gather to hear the reading of his will. As the children reminisce, whilst sharing a drink, their true opinions of their father come out.
Hands Across the Sea
A comic farce full of mistaken identities when Mrs. Rawlingson and her husband call on their friends to come over and entertain them.
Shadow Play
Amid anger and confusion, Sim Gayforth asks his wife Victoria for a divorce. However, she has taken an overdose of sleeping pills and falls into a series of flashbacks and dreams. Together Simon and Victoria remember fondly the day they first met and fell in love.
