The Yvonne Arnaud Youth Theatre: Scene Change presents

A Severed Hand & Other Tales

As a caravan of merchants make their way slowly through the desert, a stranger escapes the clutches of evil bandits, and joins this motley crew of travellers.

As they ride they smoke their pipes and tell their tales, great tales of adventure and bravery. We hear how the Caliph became a stork, how old Zaleukos lost his hand, and we learn the truth about this mysterious stranger.

Expect mirth, horror and plenty of Turkish sherbet as Scene Change takes you on this thrilling journey through the desert in a brand new adaptation of Wilhelm Hauff’s well-loved adventures.

Scene Change has built a strong reputation for performing new writing for the theatre including recent successes Clay based on David Almond’s novel, Out of Nowhere and last year’s adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s The War of Jenkins’ Ear.
