The Borrowers

“A Borrower is quiet, conscientious, and inconspicuous. We don't steal; we borrow”

Borrowers live in hidden places – inside walls and under floors. Arrietty and her family live rather happily underneath the floorboards of a large old house in the countryside.

As Borrowers, they survive by ‘Borrowing’ items from the ‘Human Beans’ who live in the home above. Arrietty is desperate to explore life outside her family home. Her curiosity sends her exploring upstairs – but when she is discovered by James, a lonely boy who lives above her in the house, their secret is out and life will never be the same…

After recent successes including Just So Stories, The Wind in the Willows and last year’s sell-out success The Little Match Girl, Act Three tackles this exciting adaptation of Mary Norton’s timeless children’s classic story.
