The Last Inklings & Lukas Drinkwater
A gig in our riverside terrace garden
Join these two acclaimed multi-instrumentalist folk artists for an evening of live music in our riverside terrace garden. With original songs as well as reworkings of traditional folk songs and covers, this delightful evening is not to be missed!
The Last Inklings are Leonardo MacKenzie and David Hoyland, accomplished multi-instrumentalists with a solid folk background. The band's innovative sound crosses genres, centred around cello, mandolin and vocal harmony, layered with guitar, piano, strings, synths and percussion. With vibrant backstories and creative musicianship, their songs have a modern flavour that is rich with imagery and narrative, exploring at their core what it is to be human. Their muscial influences include artists such as Moulettes, Punch Brothers, and the cinematic soundscapes of composers like Max Richter to the traditional songs and tunes of the British Isles.
Lukas Drinkwater is a multi-instrumentalist session musician, singer-songwriter, accompanist, recording engineer, producer and composer. Lukas has performed all over the world, performing on stage at festivals and venues from Scotland to Australia. Whether he is accompanying singers, performing in orchestras, playing as a solo artist, jazz double bassist, or folk guitarist, featuring on hip-hop albums, at country music festivals, drumming on TV ads, or mixing recordings for international artists, he can always be found making music. Currently touring as a duo with UK folk troubadors Jacob & Drinkwater and also with internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Emily Barker, Lukas occasionally moonlights as a solo artists playing original songs, reworkings of traditional folk songs, and a handful of select covers of contemporary folk & Americana artists.
