Bring learning to life with a unique experience
We believe experiencing theatre and drama through participation inspires young people to develop their own creativity, build their self-confidence and foster a lifelong love of theatre and learning.
The Yvonne Arnaud Youth Theatre has a dedicated team of practitioners ready to support teachers with a wide variety of curriculum-based workshops brought directly to your school. These drama experiences aim to support all history topics from Egyptians right up to WWII.
Other subjects include our award winning environmental workshop that looks at caring for the planet’s future and our science-based Hydro Workshop, which takes place in the Mill Studio.
All of our workshops are flexible to your requirements and should you want something different to fit in with your teaching plan then give us a call and we’ll do our best to provide it.
The topics that we frequently cover with our workshops are:
- Shackleton - Ice Explorers
- Tasc21 (Environmental Workshop)
- Firework Maker’s Daughter (Workshop and Performance)
The workshops that are currently in development from 2018 are:
- ‘Museum Wars’ – History and Artefacts (in collaboration with Guildford Museum)
- Mental Health and Resilience
We have also covered the following topics:
- Britain from 1930s – 1970s
- World War I Poetry (Performance and Workshop)
- Healthy Eating
- Anglo Saxon
We are always up for a challenge and love to work on different topics, and have been known to create and devise new workshops upon request. Should you have a particular subject in mind that is not on our list, please feel free to get in touch for discussions on how we could potentially develop something brand new!
Teacher training and school production support is also available. Book us for a training session or as part of an inset day.
Past bespoke workshops delivered include:

- Arabian Nights (Drama Week)
- Rain Forest
