In 1890s New York City, the bold and enchanting widow Dolly Levi is a socialite turned matchmaker. Her latest clients seeking assistance are the cantankerous half-a-millionaire Horace Vandergelder and a young artist named Ambrose, who is in love with Horace’s niece, Ermengarde. Dolly’s scheming soon involves Horace’s employees as well as a New York hatmaker, as she tries to cover up her own secret romantic desires.

The blockbuster Broadway hit bursts with humour, romance, high - energy dancing and some of the greatest songs in musical theatre history.

With music and lyrics by Jerry Herman (La Cage aux Folles, Mack and Mabel, Mame) and book by Michael Stewart (42nd Street, Mack and Mabel, Barnum), Hello, Dolly! debuted on Broadway in 1964 with Carol Channing starring. Hello, Dolly! features the songs Put On Your Sunday Clothes, Before The Parade Passes By, It Only Takes A Moment as well as the infamous title number.

The newly formed community theatre company Something Fantastic are thrilled to be presenting this classic musical at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre. It features a cast comprising of local talent, as well as an onstage ten-piece orchestra and is sure to wipe away those January blues!
